Job Description

At Santa Fe South High School we strive to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning and provides opportunities to prepare students from the Oklahoma City metro area to thrive in a complex, competitive, and culturally-pluralistic society. At SFS, students are provided with a challenging academic program through an expanded and rigorous curriculum that emphasizes college prep habits, the development of social responsibilities, lifelong skills, and self-confidence.  We diligently work to meet the needs of all of our learners, offering full services for English Language Learners, students who are on Individualized Education Plans, as well as those with other special needs.

We are looking for an English Literacy teacher to be a part of our family and embodies the school's vision and values to drive student learning. The Literacy program is designed to help foster a love of reading for students and provide the opportunity to read and learn literacy skills to close gaps in learning and support core English classes. SFS supports and trains teachers through solid curriculum, frequent and effective professional development, instructional coaching, and collaboration with partner teachers to set students up for success in society after high school. Teachers are expected to:

  • Utilize curriculum programs to provide differentiated instruction with prewritten lesson plans.
  • Backwards plan and develop standards-based unit and daily lesson plans.
  • Deliver rigorous and engaging lesson plans aligned to standards.
  • Use and communicate data to adjust long-term and daily instruction with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, instructional coaches and administration to continuously improve pedagogy.
  • Actively engage and communicate with families.
  • Actively participate in professional development and content meetings to improve pedagogy.

  • Bachelor's Degree
