Math Foundations Teacher

At Santa Fe South High School we strive to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning and provides opportunities to prepare students from the Oklahoma City metro area to thrive in a complex, competitive, and culturally-pluralistic society. At SFS, students are provided with a challenging academic program through an expanded and rigorous curriculum that emphasizes college prep habits, the development of social responsibilities, lifelong skills, and self-confidence.  We diligently work to meet the needs of all of our learners, offering full services for English Language Learners, students who are on Individualized Education Plans, as well as those with other special needs.

We are looking for a math teacher to be a part of our family and embodies the school's vision and values to drive student learning. The Math Foundations curriculum is designed to meet the individual needs of our students by providing them with an opportunity to remediate skills and knowledge from 3rd through 10th grade math. SFS supports and trains teachers through solid curriculum, frequent and effective professional development, instructional coaching, and collaboration with partner teachers to set students up for success in society after high school. Teachers are expected to:

• Create student materials and internalize lessons designed by instructional coaches to remediate Math skills with three other partner teachers.
• Backwards plan and develop standards-based unit and daily lesson plans.
• Deliver rigorous and engaging lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Use and communicate data to adjust long-term and daily instruction with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with colleagues, instructional coaches and administration to continuously improve pedagogy.
• Actively engage and communicate with families.
• Actively participate in professional development and content meetings to improve pedagogy.

• Strong love for kids and commitment to improving the educational opportunities for students.
• Bachelor's Degree
• Satisfactory Background Check

Compensation:

• Uses OKCPS salary schedule + 5% salary increase.
