Job Description

Position Summary

Collegiate Hall Elementary Paraprofessionals take responsibility for supporting scholars 1 on 1, assisting them with their academics and behavior management. This position supports students’ daily activities and social skills.

Responsibilities

▪ Embody and teach to the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the school

▪ Intervene and support behavior needs, minimizing the impact of behavior

outliers

▪ Support Lead Teacher in administering assessments and intervening

▪ Internalize and execute phonics lessons and intervention lessons

▪ Work with Scholar Advancement Teacher to execute interventions

▪ Support the general operations and culture of the building, including monitoring

students during non-instructional time and supporting teachers in classrooms as

needed

▪ Assist Lead Teacher in tracking data

▪ Commit to continual professional growth, participating actively in department

meetings, professional development, weekly data meetings, Staff SEL Compass

Circles, and coaching meetings

▪ Participate in 4-week summer PD

▪ Participate in one-on-one coaching cycles

▪ Guide the academic and social-emotional development of our youngest scholars

▪ Incorporate life skills, core values and habits, and social skills into all activities

▪ Receive and respond to in-the-moment feedback

▪ Collaborate with the grade-level team

Qualifications

▪ Strong commitment to and alignment with the school’s mission and core beliefs

▪ Knowledge of or experience in education and/or mentoring

▪ Commitment to holding students to high behavioral standards that will support

their academic achievement

▪ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

▪ Ability to approach situations with courage, integrity, respect, and perseverance

▪ A willingness to take personal responsibility for student academic and behavioral

growth

▪ A willingness to receive feedback on performance
