Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: KIPP OKC is part if the national KIPP network of tuition-free, open enrollment college-preparatory public charter school dedicated to preparing students from under served communities for success in college and life.
Compensation for this position is $10 an hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
KIPP OKC Teacher Assistant candidates will have the following:
•    Prior experience as a Teacher Assistant or Instructional Aide (preferred)
•    Excellent interpersonal skills
•    Experience collaborating with team members
•    Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative
•    Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
•    Proven written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
•    Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children
•    Responsiveness; follow-up and follow-through with students, families, and faculty members is essential  
•    High School Diploma (required)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Assist the teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and in assuring the well-being and safety of the children in his/her care

•    Assist the teacher in safeguarding all classroom supplies and equipment

•    Assist the teacher in maintaining discipline and supervision of children during all activities

•    Assist the teacher in preparing materials and supplies in advance for lessons and daily activities

•    Help to maintain and organize the classroom environment; this includes creating and maintaining bulletin boards and other educational displays
•    Maintain a cooperative attitude of working together with the teacher, volunteers, parents, and administrators in planning and implementing lessons and activities

•    Help shape and develop a school-wide atmosphere that best suits the needs of our students, teachers, and families

Compensation for this position is $10/hour.
