Details on this training:

New to teaching computer science? No problem! If you're looking to get started with elementary computer science, sign up for this inspiring professional development workshop designed to prepare you to teach Code.org's CS Fundamentals curriculum. This workshop (along with the course guide and online curriculum) is available at no cost to you or your school. Registration is open to both members and non members.

Code.org's six CS Fundamentals courses are designed to be flexible for your classroom. How you implement is up to you- teach CSF for your next science unit, use it to support math concepts, add technology time to your schedule once a week, or go deeper with expansion activities and projects! The workshop will conclude with your own implementation plan to teaching CS Fundamentals.

What you'll get from this workshop:

  • In-person instruction from an experienced computer science facilitator.
  • An intro to computer science and pedagogy.
  • An overview of the online curriculum and teacher dashboard.
  • A printed curriculum guide containing course lesson plans.
  • Strategies for teaching "unplugged" classroom activities.
  • Classroom supplies for the unplugged activities.
  • A certificate of completion.
  • A bag of Code.org swag!
