Ongoing: The Sony Corporation focuses the majority of its charitable giving on arts, culture, technology and the environment, with a particular emphasis on education in each of those areas.  While support in other areas may also be considered, the company seeks to apply its financial, technological and human resources to the encouragement of the creative, artistic, technical and scientific skills required of tomorrow's workforce. If your school has a program for which you would like to ask for financial assistance, click here for details on requirements.

Ongoing: SparkFun welcomes makers of all ages & skill levels to apply to become a SparkFun Community Partner. Starting January 2017, SparkFun will award selected applicants on a monthly basis with a sponsorship package that meets the need of their club or organization. In exchange for support through the donation of hardware, expertise, or money, SparkFun’s community partners provide content for SparkFun’s channels to share their stories with the maker community at large.

Various: The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has a host of scholarship opportunities for high school students. Visit their Opportunities page to find ones that might be applicable to your students!

Various: Newspapers in Education has created a variety of student-focused contests. Students who enter into any of the contests will automatically be entered to receive a  $250.00 Visa gift card.

: The Oklahoma State Dept. of Education has compiled a list of writing contests--state, national and international.

Ongoing: Check out the Oklahoma Education Needs/Donations Facebook group where teachers post their classroom needs, and a donor will ship the teacher's request straight to his or her school. Over the past two years, at least 500 teachers from all over Oklahoma have received donations, and there are now almost 30,000 group members!

July 15: Submission deadline for EcoTech grants. These grants encourage educators and students to explore the role technology can play in designing and implementing solutions to some of our most pressing environmental challenges. EcoTech grants are specifically offered to engage children in inquiry-based, STEM-related projects that leverage technology and/or use nature-based design to address environmental problems in local communities.

July 19ACE and Trauma Training at NorthCare in OKC. This training will cover the adaptive consequences of the ACE study and what we can do to shift our approach with and among individuals, families, communities, and systems. The event is $45.

July 31: Submission deadline for Scholastic Book Clubs Giveaway for Classroom Libraries. All you have to do is fill out the fields and tell in 100 words or less what you would do with the money. 4,000 teachers will each win $250, and 500 new teachers will each win $500.

August 23: Submission deadline for STEM professional learning grants. The Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance and Flight Night are providing this grant opportunity for Oklahoma STEM educators, which will be divided into large (up to $1,500) and small (up to $750) awards.

August 23: Submission deadline for afterschool program grants focused on science, technology, engineering, and math. These are offered thanks to the generosity of Flight Night, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation and the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance.

August 30: Submission deadline for the Zaentz Early Education Innovation Challenge. This challenge provides funding to support the development of promising new ideas that have the potential to transform early education. Applicants are encouraged to submit ideas and approaches that promote positive outcomes at multiple levels of the early education system, including the home, classroom, program and networks and/or policy.

August 31: Submission deadline for The Society of Aviation & Flight Educators, Inc.(SAFE) grants. These are designed to encourage K-12 classroom teachers to incorporate aviation-themed lessons into their normal curriculum.

September 13: Submission deadline for the Foundation for Rural Service grant program. Funds can be used for technology in the classroom (computers, interactive white boards), curriculum development, extracurricular activities and distance learning programs.

September 13: Submission deadline for the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Classroom Enhancement Grants. These grants of up to $5,000 are available to eligible public school classrooms and public school libraries, grades pre-K through 12, in the following areas: 1)Arts and Humanities, 2) Science or 3) Literacy.

September 28: Date set for this year's FREE Science Museum Oklahoma's TinkerFest. Tinkerfest will encompass the entire museum and grounds, bringing together makers, artists, crafters, engineers, and educators to showcase how their diverse skills converge.

October 1: Submission deadline for the Toshiba American Foundation grants. K-5 grade teachers are invited to apply on-line for a Toshiba America Foundation grant of not more than $1,000 to help bring an innovative project into their own classroom. With a Toshiba America Foundation grant, elementary teachers can bring their best new teaching ideas to life.

November 15: Submission deadline for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association: Teacher of the Year award. This award recognizes the national high school journalism teacher of the year based on his/her work during the 2018-2019 academic year.

December 31: Submission deadline for Walmart's 2019 local community grants, which range from a minimum of $250 to a maximum of $5,000.
