Legislative Roundup

Now that the session is over, we can finally finish sifting through all the new and changed laws that will affect our schools. I’ve compiled a spreadsheet of bills that passed, with a brief summary of each. It’s available within the members-only section of our website. Just log in and click on the documents tab. I’ve made it interactive so that if you’d like to see the actual legislation being referenced, you can just hover over the bill number and a hyperlink will pop up to take you right to the bill. Please keep in mind that the list is not exhaustive and may not reflect every single education-related bill that passed.

Also in the documents folder is a list of bills grouped by topic that might be helpful to you. They are clickable as well.

Finally, there is a sample shell policy to help you comply with the immediate mandates of House Bill 3218—the piece of legislation which eliminated EOIs.

I hope you’re all enjoying summer and getting some much-needed relaxation from the daily grind!
