Megan is a second-generation teacher and a proud graduate of the McLoud Public School system. Her daughter is enrolled at Oakdale Elementary,
where Megan’s favorite place to volunteer is the library.
Megan has worked in a range of educational settings from helping to found a school in Chicago,
The Academy for Global Citizenship, to museum education departments, including the Boston
Institute of Contemporary Art and The Art Institute of Chicago, to running a Boys & Girls Club
on the south side of Oklahoma City. For the last 8 years, Megan has served as the Executive
Director of the Oklahoma Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs where she managed government
relations and legislative outreach for the more than 80 Boys & Girls Club sites in Oklahoma.
During this time, she advocated for grants and programs that would provide Club members
with the skills they need to succeed academically and socially.
Megan earned her Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and
also holds a master’s degree from Boston University and two bachelor’s degrees from the
University of Oklahoma. She lives in Oklahoma City with her husband, daughter, three dogs,
and a fluctuating number of chickens.
